NZTMS Maori Receptivity Strategy
We have developed a clear journey to be responsive and effective for Maori communities across Aotearoa/NZ. NZTMS is committed to growing its partnerships with Maori through early and meaningful engagement. By including Maori early, we believe it will greater support Maori aspirations and values to enrichen design-led opportunities.
NZTMS fully embrace the involvement of Maori at the front end of design proposals which will help exercise kaitiatki/guardian responsibilities, advocate for social and wellbeing of Maori, environmental protection and enhancement. We pride ourselves with some of our own sustainable design initiatives such as our stormwater outlet filtration system ‘bioreactor’ with the intent to purify stormwater before being released. Our NZTMS whanau are actively searching for new design methods to be environmentally and operationally sustainable, gentle with the land and growing our ecological and native tree systems.
With our vision in place we have our culturally aware design that will be exercised to strengthen Maori identity and values.
